LECReD report: Building resilience from the ground up in the Maldives
Read the LECReD booklet, “Low Emission Climate Resilient Development: Building resilience from the ground up in the Maldives“. The report examines how the programme is addressing climate change in tackling four simultaneous areas: building partnerships for LECReD; developing data and knowledge systems for evidence-based planning; supporting local development planning and management; and learning from local experience and practice as a basis for replication.
The Programme is supporting the development of ecosystems-based approaches, promoting green growth, and linking local development plans as a platform to deliver the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and improve island resilience. Climate action is being promoted in key sectors such as Energy security, Ecosystems resilience (in particular waste management), Water Safety and Security, Food Security, Public Health and DRR and Women and Climate Change.
