Finland’s Ambassador to the Maldives His Excellency Mr. Kim Loutonen gives his support to the UNDP ADP Program

UNDP Maldives, 3 March 2003- The Finnish Ambassador to the Maldives Mr. Kim Loutonen has today signed three projects under the UNDP Atoll Development Program.

The signing ceremony was held this morning at the UN Building and was signed by the UNDP Representative and UN Resident Coordinator to the Maldives Mr. Minh H. Pham on behalf of UNDP Maldives. The three projects are:

1. The establishment of a Fruit and Vegetable market in Gan, Laamu atoll,

2. Construction of a network of rainwater collection tanks in Fonadhoo of Laamu atoll and

3. the building of a solid waste disposal and management site on the island of Manadhoo in Noonu atollMr. Kim Loutonen will also meet with governnment officials before concluding his visit on the 4th of March 2003.
