Task Forces
During a second UNDAF workshop held in October 2002 all United Nations Agencies in Maldives agreed to focus on three areas for the coming year that support UNDAF priorities:
• Improved nutrition;
• Youth and adolescent issues, particularly the formulation of a National Human Development Report regarding youth; and
• Strengthened data collection, management and analysis.
Three Task Forces, Nutrition 
, Youth/Adolescents and MDG/Data were formed and are led by UNICEF, UNFPA and UNDP respectively. These new groups are grounded in a specific programme context, with concrete activities to be undertaken, and replaced the previous Gender and HIV/AIDS Thematic Groups. A fourth task force on Operations Convergence also was formed that concentrates on coordinating operations activities among the Agencies and improving harmonisation efforts.
