Support to the Resident Coordinator Fund

Resident Coordinator funds allow Resident Coordinators to respond quickly and effectively to opportunities for United Nations System collaboration. Each Resident Coordinator funded activity acts as a catalyst for the development and strengthening of country coordination initiatives. The types of activities that qualify for SRC funding include collaborative programming, follow-up to major international conferences, public information activities and advocacy and common premises and common services.
In the Maldives, Resident Coordinator Funds have been used to advocacy work relating to the Millennium Development Goals, follow-up retreats on UNDAF where priority areas to work together were decided upon, creating a common website for the United Nations Family in the Maldives and in celebrating important days such as the Independence Day and UN Day.
